The formal reception hall of this private palace in Zabeel sits beneath glazed pyramid skylights framed by painted sky murals, with panelled walls picked out in gold and full-height glazing onto the garden. The lighting had to hold its own against strong daylight while keeping the room warm and formal after dark.
RAYTECK supplied the complete lighting package for the hall. Gold-accented glass chandeliers hang from the centre of each skylight, and two-arm glass wall sconces sit on the panelled walls between the windows. A continuous concealed LED cove washes the painted ceiling borders with warm light, so the murals read at night, and downlights provide general lighting without competing with the decorative pieces.
The chandeliers arrived in parts, with every glass arm packed separately, and were assembled and hung on site from scaffolding beneath the skylights.
